Dr. Eric W. Fitz, M.D.
Dr. Eric Fitz specializes in diagnosing and treating medical and surgical abnormalities involving the retina including detached retinas, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
He received his undergraduate degree at Brown University with a degree in Neuroscience and completed his Medical Degree at the University of Maryland Medical School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Fitz completed his internship at Mercy Hospital at the University of Maryland and his Residency at the University of Virginia Department of Ophthalmology, where he was Chief Resident. He completed his fellowship as a Retina Fellow at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Additionally, Dr. Fitz has been published in numerous publications, has presented findings related to retinal disorders and is involved in research projects for the National Eye Institute and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is also a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New York State Ophthalmological Society, and the American Board of Ophthalmology.
